RAGTIME, BLUES, & ALL THAT JAZZ

3:30 pm Special Event Featuring Guest Artists: Byron Stripling, trumpet and vocals In "Ragtime, Blues, and All That Jazz," Byron Stripling showcases ragtime masters Scott Joplin and Jelly Roll Morton plus blues legends B.B. King and Muddy Waters. We kick off the 2017-2018 MSO season with Classics & Crabs, a celebration of all things Maryland on Saturday, September 16. This special event includes a pre-concert beer festival in The Maryland Theatre courtyard, courtesy of Flying Dog Brewery; a special MSO concert featuring the eclectic mix of ragtime, blues, and jazz; and a post-concert street festival and crab feed. SPECIAL NOTE: In order to purchase the ticket upgrade for Classics & Crabs ($50), patrons must first purchase a “Ragtime, Blues, & All That Jazz” concert ticket (Adults $19-$69, Children Under 18 Free) on Tickets.MarylandSymphony.org. Upon completing your concert ticket purchase, you will be contacted by the Box Office with a link and code to purchase the Classics & Crabs add-on on Eventbrite. Doug LaBrecque thrilled theatre audiences as The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of The Phantom of the Opera. In addition, Mr. LaBrecque has starred on Broadway as Ravenal in the Hal Prince revival of Showboat, a role he also performed in Canada and Chicago. One of the most prolific concert performers of his generation, Mr. LaBrecque has been a soloist with some of the world’s finest symphony orchestras including The National Symphony, The Israel Philharmonic (Tel Aviv), The Chicago Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony, The San Francisco Symphony, among many others. |

In a whirlwind of events, Tosca is forced to save her rebellious lover from the tainted hands of the treacherous chief of police and must take a stand while looking death in the face.
